Jewellery Quarter
Development Trust
The Jewellery Quarter Development Trust is the independent voice for Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter – one of the most significant historic and creative quarters in Europe. JQDT works to protect and promote the Quarter’s unique heritage, support its independent businesses, and champion the creative community that has made this place extraordinary for over 250 years.
As co-founder of the Birmingham Jewellery Biennial, JQDT brings deep roots in the Quarter and a long-standing commitment to its future. The festival is a natural extension of that mission – connecting the Quarter’s world-class craft tradition with makers, collectors, and visitors from across the globe.
Birmingham City University
Birmingham City University is a forward-thinking university with creativity, enterprise and social impact at its heart, and home to over 31,000 students from more than 100 countries. At the heart of its creative life is the School of Jewellery – the largest of its kind in Europe, established in 1890 and based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter since its founding.
As co-founder of the Birmingham Jewellery Biennial, BCU brings that expertise straight to the heart of the festival, shaping its academic and creative ambition and connecting world-class education with the wider jewellery community.
